How does massage touch my life?
The way I 'touch your life' through massage.

Whether I visit you, or you visit me, prior to the massage I will always go through a consultation with you.

The aims of the consultation:

  • We get to know each other;
  • Discuss any  areas / pains that you feel need urgent attention;
  • Check your medical background;
  • Discuss medication where appropriate;
  • Find out about any allergies, or ensure, for aroma therapy, that you're not on any Homeopathic remedies which essential oils will antidote.
  • You will have the privacy and respect to talk about where you feel you need help;
  • You will be in a trustworthy, confidential environment.
  • For professional reasons, I will need the name and address of your GP if you are undergoing any medical treatment. (Please refer to the Contra - indications section)

Having gone through a consultation, you will need to undress as far as you feel comfortable.

This is important. If you have any fears about removing clothes, we can work round it- you just need to be aware that clothes you come in will get rather oily, so it would be a good idea to wear comfortable old clothes where staining wouldn't matter.

I can, by your choice, play gentle, ambient music, or you may have silence if you would prefer. Again you may talk, or choose to just float away to your inner being.

The therapy couch is heated, therefore nice and cosy. You will be covered with large, warm towels during treatment. If you feel you need the heat adjusted, please say so!

You can begin either face up or face down, whichever you'd feel more comfortable with. When beginning face down, a leg bolster is provided to support the ankles above the feet. This reduces the likelyhood of cramp occuring in your feet. You will also have your head supported in a face cushion- this ensures neutral spine alignment. If you are at any stage uncomfortable with something, please mention it that we may work round it.

I uncover only parts of the body I am working on at the time. This is quite important.

   It affords your dignity and privacy.

   It keeps you warm and cocooned.

   It enhances the effects of the massage.

   It keeps the massage professional

Having worked on your back, shoulders, neck, hind legs, & buttocks, it will be time to ask you to turn over. I will keep you covered whilst you do this, then make any adjustments to the couch and bolster positioning.

Only when you're comfortable will we resume. I'll work on the feet, fronts of legs, hands, arms, abdomen and chest, neck and shoulders, head and face. I leave you in peace for a moment whilst I get you a nice, ice cold glass of water from the fridge- absolute nectar after you've had a massage.

You'll be encouraged to relax for a while to come back and feel you feet again- very important if you have to drive afterwards. You'll be feeling quite woosy, so you'll need to be careful!

If you have further questions, please email or ring me and I'll be happy to answer them.

'Touching your life to bring out the best in you!'

I will be honoured to serve you
