Massage benefits.
There will always be moments when you feel you can't cope. This is where massage steps in. It greatly reduces or removes pain, leaving you feeling motivated, energised, calm and flexible . All these benefits, completely without the use of drugs! You'll be in a confidential environment where, if you wish, you may discuss problems that cause anxiety.
Stress:
Stress is an unpleasant, Adrenalin reaction. It is caused by your instinctive reaction to an environment perceived as one pressure, threat, or danger. If you’re late on your way to work, or have great workload, stress is that ‘sinking feeling’ you get. It can make you ill. Massage can be a valuable cure for this stress! It works to reassure, calm you, restore your vitality and energise you when you feel lacklustre. I mould you back to how you were before you were stressed.
Insomnia:
We've all had those really difficult nights when you simply can't sleep. Massage induces sleep during treatment and promotes improved sleep patterns.
Aches and pains:
These have many causes. Stress may be a factor. You may take part in competitive sports, body- building or weight training, cycling, running, tennis, athletics, football, rugby, cricket or horse-riding as well as many others. These can cause stress depending on your own reaction. Massage has great benefits for people within this group.
Foremost is the obvious reduction or removal of muscular aches and pains. Second, when you train hard you often push your muscles to exhaustion. In order for them to grow rapidly, the broken down tissues from excersion need to be removed. Though this process occurs naturally, it takes time.
Those seeking results from their hard work see greater benefits far sooner through regular massage, since this process is sped up. This reduces recovery time, helps with focus, improves stamina and endurance, reduces likelyhood of injury, gives superior flexibility and gives a much greater feeling of overall well being!
Some work environments can induce pain, maybe through bad posture, possibly spending a long time at a computer. Repetitive strain injury, as the name suggests, comes about from repetitively doing set tasks with a set number of muscles or muscle groups. Many activities in our daily lives bring about joint pain.
Stress causes muscular tension, holding the articulating areas of our joints together under greater pressure than normal. This makes the localised muscles ache (since they often go into spasm), and the joints also hurt because the articulating surfaces get more wear and tear than they ought.
Over time, muscles can shorten; ligaments and tendons tend to shorten, and all affect your posture. Massage will ease pain, relax those muscle groups, stretch tendons and ligaments for suppleness, and is a very pleasant way to keep everything in good working order!
Headaches:
Headaches have a great number of causes. More often than not the cause is muscular tension, building up in the neck, upper back and shoulders. It also manifests in the jaw muscles, and can be present in the occipital area at the back of the head. It often has trigger points on the face.
They can be caused by allergies to foods and other substances- if this is the case, you’ll need to have your GP check the cause. Massage can help lessen the symptoms, but will not prevent you from having allergic reactions.
Headaches can be blinding, causing nausea, irritability, and can be so intense as to prevent you functioning normally. Massage treatments on upper back, neck, shoulders, head and face can greatly reduce frequency/occurrence of headaches. Often in treatments we find the cause, and origins can be surprising!
Poor circulation:
Poor circulation has any numbers of causes. If you are under the supervision of a doctor for any severe medical condition regarding your circulation, then he will need to refer you if massage is something you wish to undertake. This is because it causes profound physiological changes with regard to the circulatory system.
If you have contra indications, which need GP approval, before having a treatment, I will need to know of them in your own best interest If you don’t have any medically treated problem, you will find massage of great use.
Asthma :
Asthma has many causes. Some are chronic, and sufferers find themselves in possession of a great number of inhalers; it can be brought on by sudden bouts of exercise or over excursion; it can be caused by stress; In essence, your lungs need a certain quantity of what’s known as ‘essential carbon dioxide’.
If asthma sufferers try to remove this supply, whether by sudden deep breathing, exercise, or are exposed to any form of shock, an attack is brought on. After massage treatment, clients with severe asthma have reported greatly reduced attacks, have slept right through the night, and have a general greater feeling of well being. They feel their fears of having an attack are less because they are much less tense.
Physical disability :
Physical disabilities are manyfold in cause and form. Anyone  using wheelchairs, or with severe mobility problems generally have a great deal of pain due to long term stasis. This can vary with the severity just as much as from person to person.
I am happy to work with you to make you as comfortable and flexible as possible. Massage improves muscle tone, circulation, removal of toxins and wastes, aches and pains, emotional state, and will greatly improve quality of life.
